Philippi - a town with a church ::: Part 1

The book of Philippians was a letter written to a group of people that formed a church.  It is in the Bible because it is written by the Apostle Paul.  Paul wrote to this church.  Here are some fun background facts about the book:

Birth of the church; Acts 16:9-10, God gave Paul a vision to preach the good news of Jesus Christ to the people of Macedonia.  Paul faithfully responds.  Acts 16: 12-15, Paul goes to the city of Philippi.  The church starts because of a prayer meeting.  Paul responds to God’s call and travels to the area.  Paul then goes to a prayer meeting and shares the gospel of Christ.  The church has begun.
